Borna Coric, comeback of the 2022 season, an obvious choice… After undergoing shoulder surgery in 2021 and being forced to sit out a year, Coric has managed to hang on and get back to his best. Logically, the world No. 26 was voted by his peers. Back in March, the 26-year-old player amazed the tennis world by winning the title in Cincinnati in August. On his way, Coric defeated Rafael Nadal, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Stefanos Tsitsipas. That’s it. Ranked 12th in the world in 2018, the Croatian can finally hope to reach the Top 10 in 2023. What a comeback.
“I’m super happy to win the ATP Comeback Player of the Year award,” Coric said. “Obviously, it means a lot to me after a very, very tough season, and after my shoulder surgery. All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart. It means a lot to me and obviously I hope my next season will be even better.”
