Gaël Monfils is the happiest man in the world since the birth of his first child, Skai. And this new role as a father could influence his end of the year. Monf’ only played a small tournament this summer, in Montreal, before finally skipping the US Open and the Davis Cup. The Frenchman had to undergo surgery on his heel, which forced him to miss three months on the circuit after the Madrid tournament in May, then the French Open and Wimbledon, before relapsing just before the US Open. Will he risk coming back or will he choose to stay with his family? We should know soon. On Twitter, Monfils explained that he would make “several announcements in the next few days”.
“Hello friends, hope you are well. I am currently living one of the most beautiful periods of my life with the arrival of our daughter Skai. Elina and I are enjoying every moment with her. These next days, I will make several small announcements… (…) Concerning my participation in the Paris Rolex Masters next week: I’ll tell you about my training over the next few days, until I make my final decision, depending on how I feel on the court. I shared my training live today on TikTok.”
