Nick Kyrgios is unpredictable. The Australian is capable of getting out the sulphurous gun but also of being very complimentary when he is not necessarily expected. Recently, in the columns of the Danish media BT, Kyrgios multiplied the compliments towards the young nugget Holger Rune. Under the spell, the 27-year-old player said he was impressed by the level and determination of Patrick Mouratoglou’s protégé. Above all, curiously, Nick Kyrgios even offered to help the young Rune to “have fun and let his personality run free”. Not sure that the talented Dane will go this way…
“Holger is a really fun guy to watch on the field, you can see he loves the sport and has a great work ethic. I feel like he’s someone who needs to relax a little bit, have more fun on the field and let his personality shine through. I think I could help him a lot at this level, I feel like he would do a lot better in his career if he could relax more and think about other things besides tennis. He has incredible potential and I think he could win several Grand Slam titles in his career. I see him as a very important person for the sport. I’m sure we would have a lot of fun playing doubles together, I’m ready to do it, I just need him to tell me when. I’d like to try it this year, maybe I’ll contact him and officially propose it.
