Reilly Opelka never fails to react and give his opinion on tennis news. For example, the great American considers Fernando Verdasco’s approval of his ADHD medication to be abusive and goes so far as to talk about “legal doping” on his Twitter account. His comment comes from the fact that the drug in question belongs to the amphetamine family, products that improve sports performance.
“One of the biggest problems in tennis…why are guys taking Adderall for the first time in their adult lives? Legal doping.”
While Opelka doesn’t directly attack the Spaniard, his outing is not likely to make anyone happy. He actually accuses the player and others (since he uses the plura)l to obtain improper medical authorizations. This was corroborated by the journalist Ben Rothenberg, to whom a player confided that, strangely enough, half of the top 100 players are treated for ADHD. Former player Pam Shrivers is on the same page. Will this case challenge habits?
